Very chaotic environment. Failure to provide adequate training to do day to day tasks. The work itself was meaningful but there needs to be a lot of improvement moving forward.

Lots of changes in a short time
|
I was hired and they had at least 2 major layoff in less than a year at the company. They are removing long time employees which is never a good sign and their base pay is lower than many companies. Many long term employees have been brainwashed to think they are the best in the business and although they are a large company now, they still act like a startup.

People are respectful to your time outside of work hours

Management has increasing expectations without the pay reflecting that, No respect for your work years from other companies

Very chaotic, even a pandemonium they are in a crisis and do not even realise it.
If they visited other Companies they would realise this is not the way to operate on a daily basis. Managers lack experience and relevant skills to deal with the Crisis clutching at straws.

Co-workers are fantastic; upper management is not.
|
Despite yearly "anonymous" employee surveys and their concern for an EPIC work environment, upper management remains clueless as ever to the frustrations and needs of the lowest tier employees. In the last year there have been 2 company "reorganizations" that came seemingly out of the blue. They've killed morale and left everyone looking over their shoulder wondering if they're next. It used to be a great place to work, but the last 5 years have been all downhill.

The office is nice until you start working there, people are miserable and managment is rude and entitled.
Do yourself a favour and don't even bother getting to work for them, never been so stressed in my life until I started working there. They put pressure on you and question you, you have 0 rights to speak up for yourself and the minute you try they fire your.

After a year and a half of working for Bio-Techne I can confidently say that there is no formal training or trainer, most paperwork is outdated, machines used for diagnostic testing are questionable at best and management needs a refresher on how to manage and prioritize instead of picking favorites based on how long you've been at the company. While the job itself is not hard to do it's the lack of support and consistency that makes it difficult to thrive. The best part about working for Bio-Techne would be the production workers out back who are often looked down upon by management and get paid less than everyone else in the building despite being the only ones who know how to fill product and run the machines. They are so kind and treat you like family. Another pro to this company is something called the Ark Program where they employee disabled folks. Other than that, this place should just be a steppingstone, so take what you can and move onto something better. Oh, and instead of a pizza party they do steamed hotdogs.
