Terrible Higher Management
|
|
I've made good friends that I work with, I've learned a lot, and it helped me network.
|
*Metrics mean more than staff
*Credit cards are more important than staff
*Unrealistic workload with minimal payroll
*Low wages, with sky-high expectation
*Ungrateful Corporate-level management
*DC Deliveries are unreliable and almost always late or days early
*You'll make the company hundreds of thousands, and MAYBE get a bonus if you hit monthly goal, which they calculate higher and higher to line their pockets with
*Your district managers will most likely be from other companies, who have never worked a day within the company, so they have absolutely no bearing of reality at the store level
*Constant "training" for management, which is essentially preaching common sense and treating you as if you're a child.
*The Powerplus is an extended warranty, don't let them tell you different
*They now require ID for every single receiptless return, which will tick off every single customer
*The rewards system is an entire joke, you shouldn't have to spend a thousand dollars for $10 back in a calender year, a coffee place has a better punch card system
*If you don't get a credit card every day during the promo season, you will get called by the district manager and someone in management will have to sit in during a conference call about why they didn't reach a goal, during an economic recession
*Almost refuse to promote people to full-time status, no matter how many hours they always have to work
*A $0.20-0.40 raise a YEAR isn't worth anyone's time, and no one wants to be promoted by a company that barely cares about them as a Team Member

I'm going to be completely honest and direct, you are consistently losing amazing people who care about others and their animals, because you have little to no respect or care for your employees. Improve the amount of payroll alloted, stop having chickens almost all year round, because it's just an extra hassle every single night on a massive to-due list that keeps growing. Your employees are 18+ years of age, treat them as adults, not children. Every single manager that I've personally met, are completely lazy and almost look down on you for doing their jobs, yours, and still helping every single customer.
The CEO is a complete joke, they gave a concert to store managers, while team members and lower-tier management staff manned the store and had to do things beyond their pay-grade daily.
Stop calling it the "Best team in retail", it's a warehousing job that has registers. If you want your turn-over rates to actually go down, maybe invest into the people who have kept your pockets lined while you sit behind a desk in your pajamas, harping on them about how they haven't sold their souls to a company that honestly doesn't care about them.
I've worked for the company for almost 2 years and I've made the company over a million dollars easily, yet I can barely support my family.
Give out actual raises, don't make people wait till November, especially since the economy is crashing while your stock prices climb. As someone who has worked for your company and managed others for years, you have no clue what you're doing and you're running the team into the dirt.
Sincerely, someone that is leaving the company for their physical and mental health very shortly.

Absolutely awful
|
|
Your co workers made this job do able
|
Awful pay
Management expects way too much
Store managers talk down to their employees
They often lie to their employees then look for a reason to fire them
They leave you short staffed then expect you to do all duties
Sometimes you have to close alone because of scheduling and hours to make corporate happy
They do not care about your safety

Could be a good job
|
|
The employee discount is great, and the other employees are almost always amazing.
|
Management (mainly store manager and district manager) are terrible to deal with and refuse to listen to their employees. I WAS 9 months pregnant and having to throw feed and load fencing while also being a high risk pregnancy and even after informing my current manager I was still in the same position when it came to physical labor.
District manager was continually gaslighting myself and other employees and not listening to me (the ASM) when I was informing him about a manager going against company policy and overall failing to due her job.

Listen to the employees more.
Metrics are important but not more important than upsetting customers.
More budget needs to be allocated to payroll to ensure proper staffing.
