For a new/inexperienced adjuster, there are plenty of opportunities to explore different disciplines of the insurance industry. there is ample training available.
|
Pay for mid to senior adjusters is not that competitive, Several people who have left for other companies have received significant pay increases for commensurate positions. Over reliance on metrics/analytics and data mining, very high degree of micro management. Very high turnover in the past year resulting in untenable work loads. Company culture has changed significantly under the new CEO in a negative direction. Several people in HO Sr Management positions are difficult to work with. The Chief Claims Officer came up thru the underwriting division and many believe that hinders his ability to understand claims- he has not ever handled a single claim, rather he likes to rely on the latest words/phrases from the trending business books. Overwhelming amount of policies/procedures and minutae make it hard to actually do the work.

Explore a more hands off approach- let people do their jobs instead of being so concerned with the endless procedures and reports. CEO appears to just not care about what has happened to the culture at UFG. 2 recent examples were the announcement of the PTO to DTO conversion and the ERP Announcement - there was a lot of confusion and chaos at that time and the CEO didn't address the company personally, he had some of his underlings do the presentations. During a time like this, people would have appreciated hearing that news straight from the top, but he chose otherwise.. The other was the 'virtual office Xmas party' - I don't believe he was even on the Teams call that day - that wasn't a good look. The company outwardly encourages work/life balance but the reality is that is nearly impossible to acheive due to the incredible work loads and procedural obstacles to getting thru the work quickly and efficiently.
