All coworkers are great at the individual branches. Work culture is very nice, a lot less pushy sales compared to bigger banks. Pay could be better. Bonuses are applied quarterly and they could be better. During the merger with Columbia, the bank lost its identity. Columbia’s management took over and has completely destroyed morale. This is due to Columbia’s management not having the basics understanding of how to structure credit. There is no underwriting being done. They scrape the bottom of the barrel for terrible loans, and then lend the money out with a wave and a handshake. They’re now cutting all loan support staff and will absolutely fail their next audit. Fun people to work with. Poor financial performance in 2023 leading to crazy budget cuts, layoffs, hiring freezes.
