I never felt overworked. Management held monthly meetings to touch base with employees, update us on current and future events within the imaging department, and open to our feedback/discussion. They were always transparent with us and always expressed their appreciation to their employees. I have worked in my fair share of imaging facilities and I can say now that USMD was highly organized with everything flowing smoothly from scheduling, to front desk, and so forth. My only issue was that the company was bought out several times in my 7 years there which lead to my lay off. Management was very proactive in trying to keep me with the company by relocating me to a different office and position. In the end I decided to change my career. Clinics are very clickish. Management is poor, from clinic manager to regional manager. They don’t care what is going on in the clinic. The clinics aren’t about patient health, because on the back end, it’s about chasing numbers so the company gets paid from Medicare! Unless you are friends with management or having affairs with them, you will not move up in this company! I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for work. They will push you and push work onto your lap, and they could care less if you have a break or not. Providers are great, but very poor management and no team work. Each “pod” is out for themselves. Reviews are a joke. Don’t expect pay raises even when you excel in every category. CEO plays favorites for sure since he is in the clinic weekly. Certain people have privileges as to having days off, working from home, using cell phones at their desks, eating at the desks. The facilities are clean and kept. The staff are happy people who do their job without trying to dump their work on others. They do a great job and still manage to enjoy their day. They are not under staffed. There is an excellent float pool. So you are never short staffed. Overall company not great. New systems keep patients and staff unhappy. Not very much learning going on except if it is an unnecessary system. Coworkers make coming to work fun. The hardest part is working for an 'at will' company that really doesn't care about employees. Staff was easy to get along with and helped each other out. Everyone helped each other with cases.
