Since the new CEO and executive leadership have changed, Vertex culture has changed to a negative, bullying and toxic culture. The money and time off is not worth the toll this place takes on you mentally and physically. If you like to work under unrealistic timelines, with leaders who micromanage and do not support or promote you, this place is for you. Before them I worked for small privately owned companies. I was worried to work for a big company, but all my worries were completely subsided. It was the best company I ever worked for, the management was so much more supportive than any other company I worked for. I was encouraged to ask questions and more importantly I was encouraged to ask for help! There was never a day I didn’t feel supported (even sometimes when I felt in over my head). Working in the R&D field is amazing and really insightful but I was missing the opportunity to work with people. I left to work more with tech sales instead of consistently doing research in the back end.
