Don't bother applying unless you are 25 years old, and have an NBH-WC certification in hand. Don't expect them to reimburse you or assist you in getting a certification they now demand. They'd rather reimburse a health coach to take up an MBA program, despite an MBA having nothing to do with lifestyle or wellness coaching. Expect to be over-worked, chronically understaffed, constantly micromanaged, underpaid, and unappreciated. You will be QA-ed on one or two calls per month of the 400+ per month you are expected to handle. 99% is considered only 'acceptable' - QAs graded by supervisors who haven't coached clients consistently for years, and who constantly low-ball coach scores to justify not giving raises to the hardest-working coaches. The only way to even be considered for even a 1% pay increase is to write weekly blogs or create training or other content - which management refuses to give most health coaches time off the phones to do. PTO (you'll need it!) constant micromanaging, chronic understaffing, over-working staff. There's two offices in NYC downtown and uptown. There's a huge difference in culture in the Uptown location compared to the downtown. The Uptown location was considered "the ghetto". Employees there are underpaid and very unfriendly to new employees. The office (50th St) itself sits about 300 people on one floor with one restroom. Finding yourself in a line to use a smelly bathroom is an everyday occurrence. The AC in the office goes out at least twice a month and it gets really hot in there. The work itself is basic but management tries to create issues to justify their role. Just the worst place to work. People are promoted based on favoritism and personal relationship with the upper management. As an engineer, there's no learning as most of the technology is outdated and there are no expertise in the teams. There's too much politics in this place which creates a very toxic culture. Advancement opportunities were very limited. There also seemed to be members of certain groups that were protected and played the blame game a lot that management would coddle.
