The whole time I worked there I felt like the work I was doing was dishonest because they told us to do and say everything we could just to get information from other people. I talked to one of the trainers about this and they just denied everything and told me "everything we do is legal". I would not be at all surprised if this company would be under investigation in the future, if they aren't already. On top of that, their staff is laced with MLM followers, targeting myself and other workers during and after work. Ended up getting paid less than was agreed to at the time of interview as well. Overall, you end up just feeling like an underpaid monkey doing work that you are ashamed of and if you leave, no problem, they'll just replace you with another in a matter of days. When I was first hired, they put me at a different position than what I was offered, so that caused some confusion for the first two or three months. It was fixed, happily. I like to keep work and play separate, so I did not attend 'booze cruises' and was not there when the company was banned from Big Al's due to behavior. It was a very high school clique atmosphere, and remained so when the company moved downtown and started expanding like crazy. The HR lady was the CEO's sister in law, and a lot of the managers were very close friends as well. Coworkers would date each other and hook up at work parties, and then you had to listen to the gossip after. I know that is everywhere, but it has been the worst at DO. There was not much room for growth unless you were buddy buddies with the managers, and my after work interactions should not have a say when it comes to my work. Total scam. You are instructed to come up with fake identities and stories and call companies to try and get direct contacts for people in purchasing roles. That info is then sold to other companies so they can then pester those direct contacts with sales calls. It's a bunch of young people working there saying inappropriate things and made me feel super uncomfortable most days I worked there with their inappropriate talk. DiscoverOrg is completely top down driven, so if you are below the executive level, you have no authority in your position. The environment is unstable and constantly changing. They also have a culture of proudly paying below market rate on compensation, and setting unrealistic deadlines with the expectation that their employees will work extra hours to make it happen. It is common to put weeks of work into a project to have it de-prioritized. My career is much better off for having worked here, but I would not recommend it.
