Low pay and Fake Culture
|
Agilent has lower pay scales than most if its competitors and will expect more work from you then places I have worked that pay more. The preach about culture but that is a myth its a remnant of when they were HP and has since died off. Benefits are mediocre at best and don't justify the pat gap. The management lacks experience and understanding of their own roles. They will promise training, education, and career paths but never deliver on any of it. Its like being thrown into a viper pit. Word to the wise enter at your own risk.

Agilent at the Carpinteria site has some great employees however management is awful and completely disconnected from employees!! Their expectations are unrealistic. They do not care at all about work life balance. There is a lot of turn over in employees making the job difficult.

No culture, no matter how many times they say they do, since departing from HP. Few promotions from within, and not by merit. Thus many managers do not know the business and they are status quo. No innovation. Informatics failed miserably on preparing software for the cloud. No accountability for 3 years wasted effort and millions of dollars. Is becoming a joke with all the woke. Management, the upper directors are very political and do not hold other management accountable. The company has cut salaries two times %10 total of two years. Recently forced every one to take vacation during covid lock downs because management are not able to forecast. We ended up with the best quarter in history, with a problematic pretext. Not honest and not transparent.

Excellent team atmosphere
|
It was busy enough that the hours went by quickly while also feeling accomplished in my daily throughput. The management was supportive and promotions came from within. I worked with some amazing people who really contributed to a wonderful team atmosphere.

Lost my job over mandates.
|
I loved this job, but the corporate policies destroyed my career.
I worked in the pathology departments of many different laboratories and hospitals- I never seen what they were showing us on television. Needless to say, I could not justify the enforced mandates.
I was respected by all of my customers and significantly improved the quality of our northwestern region’s pathology equipment (cancer detection). When management started enforcing mandates it quickly turned into a nightmare.
Other than the last year I was with the company undergoing stress that I was going to lose my career, it was a great company with professional leadership.
I wish it would have worked out differently but I will never trust the healthcare industry again after this life changing disaster. I would have to lie to say I seen 40+ overwhelmed hospitals and laboratories throughout the western U.S.
