Management are either recruited internally or externally , however for the latter option they are not given and don't actively pursue any training or insight into any of the mass amount of processes that their team members work! Absolutely horrible situation to be in when you are attempting to question the quality team's outcomes when your manager does not have the knowledge or skills to represent your case fairly! The managers are not trained on their processes so don't feel qualified enough to question the unqualified quality team. And to make their job easier just go along with the quality team's findings , as it would be too much effort to find out the truth. The majority of the colleagues are honest and hardworking, however this is destroyed by the clique mentality and managements lack of knowledge or experience or even willingness to learn , make this an awful place to work. I would not recommend this to anybody looking to work in a professional environment. avoid like the plague. Transamerica is lacking in management support. They will lie to you during the interview process about your job duties, lie to you about having a flexible work schedule, lie to you about compensation. Transamerica only cares about numbers, not their employees. If you are looking at a position in the New Business department, I strongly urge you to reconsider. New Business is treated as a lesser at Transamerica, there is no support, no help from management, you will be forced to be on the phones for 6+ hours a day, 1 hours phone calls, then told to work emails while on the phones. It’s mentally exhausting, and management refuses to help. The position was told there would be little to no phone calls, we would be working emails to process cases as a Case Manager should, however, that was a lie. The supervisors spend all their time in meetings coming up with NO solutions to help their team. Management, upper management, supervisors ~ they lack leadership skills. No support system, you are treated as though you should not have opinions and should do as you are told with no complaints. Supervisors will isolate you, not tell you the truth, they do not care about improving the company or their team. Supervisors will be MIA when you need them and they will force you to do their work. There is no flexibility in your schedule, you cannot pick your hours, your breaks and you are forced to work late night shift each month. You will regret working at Transamerica, turn back while you still can! Remote work place, unless you are within the office limits then you will be forced to come in for meetings. What is the best part of working at the company? It was poorly run by political leaders who were willing to do anything unethical to the consumer. The director was unlicensed to do business in all states yet received commissions. When looking for who to keep during eight rounds of layoffs, they only kept LGBQ uneducated employees and those who knew where the bodies were buried. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Layoffs every quarter, exponential workload increases, and leadership selfishness and incompetence. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Toxic. They overpaid wholesalers at the expense of those who actually produced. What is a typical day like for you at the company?
