If you plan on growing your knowledge in the HVAC industry this job title should be changed dramatically... The day to day work is nothing like what a HVAC Mechanic should be doing at the industrial and commercial platform. The facility I was located at and the company vehicle was the most unorganized cluttered setup I ever seen in a professional setting. The day I started was a example of things that were red flags for a new hire that has overall 15 successful years in the industry. My outdated service truck was a mess,not License, not stocked properly no insurance empty gas tank. My work lab-top was late arriving due to manager not offering it in a timely matter. The expectations of the Work schedule the manager set were apparently not what he said/meant . The building facility has “No”running water and no flushable toilet .. My supervisor said it and meant it, he had our backs no matter what. Once the job was completed and I didnt want to relocate I was asked how long I thought it would take to find work. There response was , I did an awsome job for them and saved them alot money by catching something early on. So in appreciation , I was kept on the payroll for additional time while I looked for work. There are a lot of good people at this organization, but the best ones are seldom heard and even more rarely given the opportunity to advance in terms of title or pay. Running a power plant basically by yourself has its challenges in relation to time, you have to be available basically 24/7, but there's always help available when needed.
