Well firstly, the stock price is in the toilet. That should tell you a few things right off the bat. No one wants to offend the CEO/Founder, so good product ideas get shelved, including millions of dollars in time wasted by product teams doing discovery and pitching products to the "Product Forum" only to get told that the CEO won't like it. This is despite data-driven analyses to prove out ROI on features, and certain features being on the top wish lists of all their enterprise customers. Lots of self-important talk about how complicated their product is; it's not that complicated. My background was in much more complex, technical products, but every time I referenced this I was told I was too new to understand and to go develop my product sense. My manager blocked me from talking to his higher-ups, wanted to control what I said and did in their presence. He ended up offering me a lot of money to leave, and lie about the fact that it was my choice to quit. Otherwise he threatened to put me on a PIP and exact quote, "you won't be able to succeed at this PIP." The area I was hired to work on STILL doesn't have those enterprise features that were at the top of customer lists, probably because my old boss is still blocking whatever poor sap took my place. I barely lasted 8 months and I was gaslit the whole time; I didn't know their product well enough, I didn't need to be discussing anything with my skip-levels, disagreements I raised or discrepancies I pointed out ended up getting used against me later. Bottom line, if you disagree with anything they say, expect to be blacklisted. It is not a psychologically safe place for healthy disagreement. You have to play along here in order to ship anything. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 0.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 3.0 567443 Open Prioritize people and principles over your precious process. nyse:asan https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=567443 Mar 18th, 2024 12:00AM Open Open Asana Enterprise CSM New York, NY One of the best places I've worked I have actually recommended this company to friends. As a woman of color sometimes a corporate environment can be unsafe for us. At Asana, I believe I was given the same opportunities and pay as my colleagues, I was treated with respect, given praise and recognition for good work. There were not only women and people of color in leadership, there are women of color in leadership. (I have only worked at one other company where this was the case.) Also Asana is not afraid to pay you for your worth. This is more a reflection on tech at the moment but the role changed a lot during the time I was there. After the layoff we took on more technical work 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 4.0 4.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 4.0 567443 Open My manager really tried her best to catch us up with the tech changes to the role but it seemed each team had different approaches. Perhaps a bit more effort to change management but I think the company did the best it could given the volatility in tech at the time. 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 2.0 Open Mar 20th, 2024 09:12PM Mar 20th, 2024 09:12PM Asana

nyse:asan https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=567443 Feb 29th, 2024 12:00AM Open Open Asana Account Executive San Francisco, CA Don't bother Fantastic product. It pretty much sold itself. I truly enjoyed interacting with customers on a day to day basis because I actually enjoyed using Asana. Sure, their culinary and all the perks in the HQ was a bonus as well. Awful leadership. Fake culture. It felt like either a high school atmosphere with cliques OR it felt like college when you were pressured to pledge to a sorority or fraternity. Prepare to have your stress tank overflow daily because leadership does absolutely nothing which will result in you being blamed for your performance one way or another. Their metrics and goals are so far off but it's completely your fault if you don't hit your number.
