A great place to work

Having seen the 1 negative review, it is clear that this person left under a cloud, as this is in no way an accurate reflection of the company at all.
The health and safety of all colleagues is of paramount importance, along with colleague welfare.
They provide many additional benefits, such as a monthly celebration of different cultures, with food and decorations, and have a big focus on reward and recognition. I have worked at Aptar for 3 years, and I find everyone friendly and welcoming. There is lots of training available and chances for progression should you want it.

Oil leaking everywhere.

Its been few years since I worked there so I cannot be fair about current situation. Hope that maintenance team improved. There was loads of problems with sustaining the production and with quality of manufactured product.

The work required is ok. However not many people there speak English and the workplace culture is hostile unless you speak creole. The work is enjoyable and you’re able to set personal goals every day you’re scheduled to work.

Be ready to be burnt out.
|
I work on the production floor as an operator. I get to see how the presses and production run firsthand. I also interact with quite a few of our technical and quality staff. Many of my direct coworkers and the staff I interact with admit to feeling burnt out by this facility.
This facility has issues with staffing. Upper management, including the plant director position, has had their roll turned over in some way. Older staff leaving over the working conditions, newer staff quitting because they're overwhelmed, and corporate interfering for "restructuring" purposes.
The production floor is often a skeleton crew. Some shifts barely having the minimum technical or quality staff to function, and sometimes less than that. Aptar tries to "promote from within", but production floor staff turns over so fast that no one is qualified. New hires on the production floor are often gone within a couple weeks at best.
Not that they can be blamed. Each room and shift works like completely different companies, with upper management acting like it's own separate company too. Communication is nearly non-existent because of this. The only communication that seems to happen is when things go wrong, and even then it's mixed.
Support is almost non-existent. Asking for help is like talking to a wall. HR has been replaced with a hybrid of on-site staff and a separate online company that is paid by Aptar to handle HR issues. Talk to either and they'll point you back to the other.
Overtime used to be as much as you wanted to work, but that has changed. If you exceed a certain amount of overtime now, disciplinary action is taken. This is due to a troubling, multi year, dip in production and sales.
Machine maintenance is often deferred. A lack of staff and an unwillingness to have slightly more downtime for better production has meant most machines are not well maintained. Oil and water leaks are common. Production quality suffers. Downtime rises.
