Interesting place to work

The work is interesting and you meet a lot of people, more than in most corporate settings. However, some bad managers seem to slip in and are hard to get rid of. And sadly, it can cause some turnover.

As far as manufacturing this is not a bad career or company to pursue. Work is work, people are people but if you come in to it teachable, have some skill the pay, schedule and benefits are worth it.

Horrible Corporate Culture and Leadership

Horrible corporate culture and leadership from Avery Dennison’s headquarters in Ohio. Upper management does not understand how a chemical plant should be properly operated. As such, the Mill Hall plant has suffered in every aspect over the past several years. Finances, quality, safety, regulatory compliance have all performed poorly. Capital projects are a complete mess, and nobody in a corporate role is held to account. Employee turnover is nearly constant now, with employees at all levels regularly quitting or being fired. Upper management is completely without principles and will lie repeatedly to serve their own self-interests. Do not consider working here if you have even a shred of dignity or ethics.

Easy job, laid back for the most part, lots of OT especially around holidays

What is the best part of working at the company?
Easy job most days, 2nd shift is laid back and the actual job isn’t hard.
Downside is that they have a lot of overtime then run out of materials so you have to jump to another machine or dept
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
If you are in Coating, makin sure the machines run well and the material doesn’t tear
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Laid back on 2nd/3rd shift they allow music on those shifts.
I can’t say anything bad about them expect for running out of materials and the frequent/ short notice Overtime
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Coating dept: load material onto the machine including glues, paper or plastic backing and controlling amount of glue that goes into backing, bake in long oven
Gets HOT in coating!
Finsishing dept, load machines and set up blades for sizes needed for finished product. Tag/ bad and place finished rolls on pallets and stage in back room for shipping
