Booz Allen was my first job out of college fourteen years ago. And barring a brief stint at SAIC, which ended badly due to Management wanting butts in seats, rather than helping me succeed in the position they hired me for! I will always hold Booz Allen at the highest of regards! I learned so much, worked with amazing people, both govvie and other Boozers, as well as, subcontractors. I worked, I strode, and gained so much for the places I worked and assisted! I know Booz as a large consulting firm is always, they care about their bottom line. They do, but at the same time, they care about their people. Which is what they sell the client/government on.
And the reason why I left wasnt because of bad management, or people, or pay or benefits. For my situation, I wanted to work closer to home, rather than commuting, be it car or metro to DC/VA for work five days a week. All the positions in that area, I could have done blindfolded, but my family and my mental health for doing that minimum 2hr commute, plus screwing up the great child care my wife and I receiving for our children, would go out the window. So the positions near Ft. Meade required skills I had but needed a cert to show I had them, or I knew an equivalent tool, but they couldnt take that skill set. So I regrettably left, but knowing I have five years to comeback to retain all of my vesting/benefits will definitely come into play for my return to Booz!

Contracts are concentrated in DC/VA, and those in MD are hammered as soon as they go up, stretching the timeline to get onto one of those contracts. Or so many people have the same skill set, but then its a who has the additional pieces.
