Good culture, open and accepting. "Can do attitude" for the most part. Two of their companies (Cheyenne and the Oil and Gas) a little on the toxic side.

Engaging and rewarding career

Exceptional company that invests heavily in their infrastructure and their employees. This job is challenging and fast paced during peak excavation season. The position is both physically and mentally demanding at times, and to be successful you must be self motivated and a self starter. BHE equips us with the best tools in the industry. Safety is top priority and you are given the authority to stop work if you determine there is a hazard.
My only complaint would be the understaffing in operations. When it gets hectic, it is no joke, and there is generally not much in the way of help that is close by. You must be able to problem solve on your own or you will be in BIG trouble.
The company is very much evolving and improving day by day. Imperfect like every big company, but I can't imagine working elsewhere. Love my boss and lobe my team.
Benefits are excellent and pay is fair but not amazing considering the responsibilities. Would give company a 5 star but upper management is always looking out for the shareholders over their own, but that is not isolated to BHE.
Would highly recommend to someone looking for a steady and rewarding career in the gas utility industry.

Call center, Family oriented. Paid well, Fun activities

Bhe is a call center for electricity and gas. I learned many rules and regulations that are constantly changing. I worked with two monitors and on the phone 10 hrs a day. I love working with customers and assisting them with their needs.
I enjoyed working with co workers. If I didnt move to another state, I would still be working for them.

Struggled with a disability after a long absence and had to fight to get benefit's that should not have had to be fought for.
Work environment did not feel safe to work in due to a coworker making it feel toxic by how he treated others.

The People are one the best parts of this company but it feels like an "us vs them" between employees and the leadership team. In addition, the Leadership team really struggles to lead and develop as it feels theyre very unsure of their own specific roles and direction. Borderline toxic leadership culture.
