Never appreciate or compensate if you do more. People who stayed long enough are gaslighted to the bones that they will never ever stand up or give their opinions. They will leave you get gaslighted as well, seen so many young talented, smart people leave because of this. There is no one on your side to cover for you. Great co-workers, you can learn a lot about bank and finance industry. They will be worked to death. At BoH, bank employees serve the managers at the top; total top-down, micro-management style. You can be expected to work late, weekends, holidays, not take vacation, etc. if they want something done. If you have a divergent view, it's not appreciated or valued. So sad. Management lacks respect for their employees to a fault. They can even be ruthless (where are you going to go, right?). It's a sick culture to be in. But, no one will speak up. See the problem? So you better know someone there! Saw so many hires and promos based on what HS they went to! When you’re hired, no formal training. It’s pretty much OTJ, sink or swim. Culture is clickish.
