working conditions at Burlington Coat Factory

No pros in my honest opinion. Basically, it's what you would expect working at any retail job for minimum wage.

From my personal experience, one of the major cons of working for Burlington Coat factory is having to constantly pickup piles clothes dropped on the floor by messy customers and reorganize and label them as they were before being left on the floor. the Burlington I worked at in Westgate Mall, Brockton Massachusetts had clothes all over the floor like a pigsty, not sure if other burlingtons are life this but if your someone who hates having to constantly pickup after grown people then this position is not for you and it certainly wasn't the position for me as I was miserable as hell working in that hot mess, didn't even last two weeks before just quitting and leaving.

Some of the nicest people work here and are really easy to get along with. It is also pretty busy most of the year, so it's really easy to pick up extra shifts.
|
It is a very fast-paced environment, and you are timed when doing everything. It can be very overwhelming at times. The managers hardly accept availability requests and will schedule you when they know you can't work. Only like 3 registers work properly, so it is frustrating when there is a long line. Not only this, but in my location they only put women to work on the floor.

I think they should fix all the registers and finally get scanners that work properly, which will make the process easier and faster for everyone involved. It would make it worth it if we were at least receiving benefits like medical insurance.
