This is where I learned to be a "Trusted Adviser" when I had an office next doot to VP of Geology. When the other VPs came to his office to gripe, I learned how to not listen to what they said, and not repeat it outsoide of the office. This is where I earned the title of a "Trusted Adviser". I won't recommend this place for any student position. Gloomy place to work at and the offices are cold. They say it's because they want to keep people awake. When you start at 5am with unpaid overtime everyone does untill 7pm. I wish it was even something useful, people just sit around pretending to work. But you'll learn a lot by being on-site. Working with the maintenance team was fair and just, however, I found the supply chain department racist and unfair to minorities. What is a typical day like for you at the company? One pro is job security, but management exploits it by underpaying employees. The micromanagement by leads is dreadful; upper management often remains oblivious to the thoughts and feelings of regular employees because this information gets trapped at the lead level. Unfortunately, some departments are more problematic than others, with leads doing everything possible to impede your growth. Their attitude is simply 'if you don't like it, just leave.' It's disheartening to see valuable employees with experience and knowledge being pushed away without regard for their potential contributions.
