It’s a decent gig, but the days off aren’t the greatest you get bumped around from days to nights to afternoons in your first couple of years until your done your “apprenticeship”. Pay is good but work is very repetitive and your always outside year round

is a real unique place to work, enjoyed being there for 11 yrs. Managment has it goods ans bads like any place. Loved that you can advance in differnt areas.
If on ganga you work 7 on and 7 off which is nice for summer. ot as much as you want

pay is good but work/life balance is not

as many already know working in a railway makes a hit on work/life balance. 24/7/365 all year round the clock trains don't stop otherwise canada would stand still. pay is better than most in the city and the mates are great at helping each other out (varies from every shop)

Great jobs and an overall good company and union . If your ambitious you can work your way up the ladder and become anything they have to offer. Excellent training programs based on the type of occupation you would like to follow. Sometimes you will have to work long hours and may have to stay away from home for a 24 hour period depending on what occupation you choose.

I have been working at HQ for just a little over 6 months. I always learn something new about the Railroad every week. The work is challenging, and I couldn't have asked for a better schedule. Pay is great and management is supportive.
