High stress toxic culture, tons of OT, upper management made poor decisions, division between depts, managers and supervisors in place who weren’t qualified and who had little to no industry experience but were hired from Big 4 accounting firms, extremely limited cooperation from field ops, company always trying to fix things with a bandaid, employees were ranked for reviews so even excellent performers were forced to receive a mediocre review in effort to control raises and bonuses.

Those of us who’ve been in the industry awhile could tell a year out that the company was either going to get bought out, merge, or go bankrupt based on the culture and decisions being made. We were quietly preparing for it long before news was released about being bought out.

The upper management keeps bringing managers from other companies rather than promote people who’ve been with the company and understand the roadmap. There was 95% turnover in the accounting & land administration department in 3 years. They just keep putting it into someone else’s lap to try and fix.
