CPB has excellent marketing and is customer-focused. The amount of care put into marketing and customer solutions is the opposite of what is provided to the employees. It's a nice place to start but be prepared to leave. Top-heavy management, PPRs, and raises are a joke. I was in the customer service department. I felt like they just threw us in to help with other tasks that were way out of our job description. During that time we had to help out with the PPP loans and we didn't have enough support or manpower making it feel like i was underpaid. However, expectations placed on you are very high and honestly a lot of the time unrealisitc or unmeetable. I had support when I asked from management, but it was always try and there was a greater majority chance you weren't going to get help. Customers are demanding and many are rude. They will insult and berate you, especially because many are uneducated about how banking works. This is also how in many ways the expectations are too unrealistic, since a major portion of CPB's model is customer service. Often, though, customer service is difficult with uncooperative or highly resistant customers. There's a good employee culture, they offer stuff to do and many of us talk. Pay is better than some jobs out there, but overall given what we have to deal with it's a bit too low for the amount of work needed. Benefits are also okay, you do get health insurance on full time. But some of the other stuff is negligible. We learned about it in orientation. Nowadays, the company’s main strategy involves using vendors to take over all its major operations, so the actual bank has no identity. It’s not a company that seeks to grow the people around them.
