My personal experience with Carpenter is a series of ups and downs. Throughout out my time there i moved into a team leader position. I witnessed a great disconnect in communication that was very apparent between upper management and the workers i led on the floor. Constantly pushing and pulling just to get through a single work day. Transparency was not existent, so I found myself always trying to bridge the gap for more clarity. Accountability was also a major issue so it enabled a toxic work environment. Sundays were double time and time and a half after 8 hours. Overall My experience working at Carpenter Technology Corporation was good while it lasted. Made good money but worked long hours. Rotating shifts was rough but part of the job. Was able to work as much overtime as you can handle. To many entitled employees, that feel they have more rights than senior employees do. Seniority counts for nothing, have rolling layoffs, with 20+ years with the company so the 3 to 5 year guys are not put out !!!!! HR no longer help the employees, the only thing they know is “ that’s the way it goes “.
