Work environment is calm, self pace
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Easy, manageable work, most days are sitting at desk doing paperwork, reviewing batches , gathering materials for runs. 2-3 days have runs, can be busy but not overwhelm

Nice place but low pay

It was nice to work at but pay was low. Best thing was the Flex Time so the hours per day was up to you which was very useful for a lot of people. Food was nice too

What is the best part of working at the company?
It was a horrible experience I have never had in my career working for this company. You can come and go just like shopping at the food market stores.
Managers play dirty politics by replacing job positions with people without any knowledge for their benefit. I mean:" It doesn't matter what you know, but matter whom you know"

Deal with politics and tolerate foud plays.

Talking too much trash but know nothing

Sitting there and observing the fault plays from manager.

Decent pay, easy work, awful in every other way

No life outside of Catalent. Mandatory overtime is 7 days a week for months at a time. No communication within management or to employees. This company puts profit over people with their employees and the patients who are unlucky enough to take their medications.

My experience at Catalent was so bad that I almost gave up on a chemistry based job completely.

Enjoyable work place if you have good company. Otherwise it can be lonely and targeting.

As a member of lab staff its a tough job since the business is very busy and heavy on lab work. Even though there is a huge lab team there is still plenty of work to keep you busy.
You are well trained in the lab to make you feel confident on the work you are doing.
However, mistakes are highlighted with everyone even those not involved or have anything to do with the department. Seems to be a large gossip culture in upper management that stops growth of lab staff.
Working in the lab is fun and enjoyable as all techniques are available and you can be trained on anything if you are willing enough. Great place to start off as their GMP knowledge and implication is very strict and correctly so. Even though paper based it is very easy to find paperwork from previous years as archiving and quality department are well established.

Really tough to jump up the ladder internally.

Overall good company to work for.
|
I enjoy working at Catalent but there are issues with communication with upper management that can make a project stressful and more time consuming. They are great with promoting within. Very good about providing whatever your needs are to accomplish the task. In the 4 years I have been there my salary has increased by probably $20k and I will put my salary up against the top salaries in the country of similar positions. The stability bothers me a bit because in my 4 years we have had 2 'larger' layoffs.
