It's kind of difficult to explain a typical work day at cubic. It largely depends on what kind of work you're doing and what you've been hired for. But when I was working there I was with the transit agency department which deals with Fare boxes and tablets that are on buses.

Upper management in California is a joke when it comes to taking care of their employees. It trails from the CEO to the CCO...My supervisor here in Tullahoma was awesome. She would do her best to help us where we needed help. We kept a family atmosphere in our area of the call center. But California would push what they were doing there on us in Tennessee without actually getting input on what is working here. Lacking the true intelligence to lead the organization in the right direction resulting in them shutting down our call center and laying everyone off. The building that we were in is nothing but an empty shell wasting away. My advice, don't trust anything they say from the executive branch of Cubic they speak from both sides of their mouths.

A well stocked break room with coffee, and hot chocolate. And automated vending concessions.

No job security, they are slow to hire on and you have no knowledge of where you stand in the company.

All this company values is how few people they can have complete unrealistic workloads. If someone leaves a position, they are not back-filled and their entire workload falls on another who receives no benefit from absorbing it. They do not value their employees as people with lives outside the office. There is very little upward mobility or salary increases. If I could take back the years worked here, I would.

Horrible company with awful management. I would not recommend CUBIC to anyone with integrity. I worked in CUBIC for over a year in Saudi Arabia and it was the worse job experience of my life. Pure lies and toxic work environment and no one cares. The living conditions feel like living in a prison.

Interesting and challenging work, BUT
1) 50-70 hour workweeks for anyone salaried due to extreme under-resourcing
2) Fraternity culture
3) Far too many silos, and far too many battles between personalities
These things lead most people working on the NextBus project to eventually burn out, or get laid off because they don’t fit the culture.
