The culture on my team was not the best.

- Opportunity to learn and progress as an aspiring Process Engineer.
- Experience for building a career.

- No intentional development me from my team
- There were unrealistic expectations (e.g. expecting me to learn the process facility and equipment numbers in weeks).
- Withholding timely feedback and not addressing grievances until it came to school reports even after being repeatedly asked.
- Ignoring my messages and penalizing me because I did not communicate as my supervisor wanted.
- Feeling othered because I was introverted and did not drink or engage in certain conversations.

-Nepotism is still rampant at remote sites and it’s encouraged by Sr leaders despite company policies against it.
-No medium/long term vision-very reactive atmosphere
-Short staffing safety critical positions has become a policy
-Remote camp experience deteriorates with every visit. It’s become life support for your time there, not an enjoyable place to be.
-Work/life balance has taken a sharp decline in recent years with elimination of extra vacation purchase and stat holiday banking policy changes
-aging airplane fleet used for transportation to the remote sites

Eliminating the vacation purchase and stat holiday banking for field shift workers will cause many skilled and experienced employees to search elsewhere or retire early. These options were chopped right after an employee survey said the work/life balance was excellent. You would not get the same results to those survey questions now.

I wish I could say something positive. Nothing comes to mind.

I applied to the position. I was excited and feeling like it was a great opportunity that aligned with my experience. I did some research and noticed there were no minorities working in the office. I was still optimistic about landing the position and I went above and beyond to stand out as a candidate. Still I was left ghosted for months with no response. It was disappointing and truly heartbreaking to experience. I read others who experienced the same. So please don’t waste your time here and apply to places who will respond and give you an equal opportunity!

Please know that people have families they need to take care of and wasting candidates time, especially minorities who you know you are not looking to hire. The interview process was 3 -6 months and I was left ghosted. Respect is a two way street. There needs to be a better process and equal to all.
