Jam safety down your throat but good luck when you need something safety concerning. Continue to add more bull to your work load.Only company I've ever worked for that makes policies & dont follow them when it's in their hands. Lower wage then most places for skill sets. Dycom is a monopoly without the title for legal purposes... find somewhere that appreciates the ones who make them money.

My pay and benefits at Dycom are mediocre. Could be better. Dental and visit are meh but health was ok. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

Top down micromanagement

Just my opinion. Seems like nothing gets done unless CEO is involved and dictates outcomes with frequent angry outbursts. "Old boy" management tends to keep secrets in fear of CEO finding out, and will downplay severity of things like system outages that effect subsidiaries ability to generate revenue. Seems like managers only hire people that are not as smart as they are. Upper management and cronies tend to promote blue collar workers or family members into management positions at corporate. Those managers struggle to deal with knowledge workers and often micromanage. Turnover is exceptionally high throughout enterprise. If you're smart and motivated, you likely won't get promoted and may become part of the annual April lay-offs if too ambitious. Managers keep detailed monthly performance reports on all employees that are shared with the CEO and HR every month. Not uncommon for a manager to conspire to give a bad employee review as the April lay-offs approach. Many of the employees that have been at corporate for many years skirt by under the radar, they don't rock the boat, aren't highly educated, and do whatever it takes just to get by. Just my opinion.

Horrible place to work

You work for almost 50 hours a week and get paid peanuts, you are only allowed to be off 2 days a week even with holidays...So if your usual schedule Has a Wednesday and Saturday off and a upcoming holiday is on a work day...they would want you to give up the following Wednesday or Saturday to make up that holiday. So if you get Labor Day (Monday) off then they will have you work either that Wednesday or Saturday which is trash....They call you at 7:00 am every morning but you don’t officially clockin until 7:30 but don’t get paid until you complete your first job. The benefits are expensive and don’t cover much. You do a lot of work that you don’t get paid for like spending time at the which is hours you not getting paid for. You are basically doing cable at minimum wage and it’s not worth it....You don’t get paid for drops in trouble calls and they nickel and dime you for how you close it out. I wouldn’t recommend it for anybody

I really enjoyed my time at Dycom. I felt fulfilled with the work that I was doing and also felt supported by my direct supervisors. I had looked forward to a long and happy career with the company until I was laid off due to Covid 19.
