Travel very fair. Vaca difficult, lots of turn over, unrealistic expections. The job can be rewarding, however can be stressful with lots of hours. Lots of upper management and not enough attention to customers and the market. Do not promote within or most qualified (buddy system). Every show cycle brings many changes and turnover. Travel is good, with nice places and benefits. Have had good management and awful, depends where you are assigned. Vacation is difficult to take, you will get buried. Unrealistic expections and timelines. There are some nice people who work there, the job can be fun as lone as you don't find yourself in one of those difficult divisions. 0.0 0.0 3.0 2.0 3.0 3.0 4.0 2.0 Sep 17th, 2022 12:59AM Sep 17th, 2022 12:59AM Emerald Expositions

The big fish is always acquiring the smallest fish and is very common. The perks to this job was the traveling for industry expos and meeting new teammates from other offices. No training, so no advancement opportunities. Very friendly and knowledgeable employees willing to help. Endless, pointless assignments and meetings. C-Level staff cuts trickle down. Zero job security. Don’t expect a raise. Managers and directors from most branches were the “last man standing” rather than being qualified to run a department. Run, run, run. Awful company to work for. 5.0 0.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 Sep 17th, 2020 11:15AM Sep 17th, 2020 11:15AM Emerald Expositions

There have been severe changes in policies, flexibility, almost 100% corporate leadership turnover which has made the changes. Turnover is at an all-time high. It is definitely not the company it once was. Summer hours, could work from home Executive leadership 8.0 0.0 2.0 4.0 2.0 2.0 3.0 1.0 Sep 17th, 2020 11:15AM Sep 17th, 2020 11:15AM Emerald Expositions
nyse:eex https://www.indeed.com/cmp/emerald-95313782/reviews Jun 2nd, 2018 12:00AM Open Open Emerald Marketing (Former Employee) NYC, NY USA Floundering, floundering, floundering Since the company's IPO, there's been nothing but layoffs. We just watched senior leaders having knee jerk reactions and pointing fingers at other people why it's their fault. If you're in a satellite office, we'd get nervous if we saw the CEO or the top HR person, because it generally meant someone was getting let go. Morale was really bad across the company. When employees from the different offices see each other at the shows, they trade war stories about what's happening in their locations. The CEO and senior management make decisions that are largely more concerned with the share price. These decisions don't take into account most of the employees on the show teams know their customers better the executive team do. It's truly about the numbers and you're just a body. They changed their time-off policy to "unlimited time off" which sounded good in theory. My manager would be annoyed when I requested time off, even though I had taken off less time than I did the same period last year. When I did have time off, there was no disconnecting at all. The same thing with summer hours. We used to take them more, but as the company kept sinking, it was frowned upon if you left at the earlier time, even with your work done. There are good people who work for this company, some of them I worked with closely, but the last year has made it that they're all looking for jobs somewhere else, ne included. Good colleagues, smart people, some travel, shows are fun No work/life balance, health package was $$$, no orientation with a sink or swim mentality 10.0 0.0 1.0 1.0 3.0 2.0 3.0 1.0 Sep 17th, 2020 11:15AM Sep 17th, 2020 11:15AM Emerald Expositions

Everyone was very friendly and it seemed like they definitely cared about the employee experience, but it's a company that's downsizing. So I don't know what the future of the company is. 6.0 0.0 4.0 5.0 4.0 3.0 5.0 4.0 Sep 17th, 2020 11:15AM Sep 17th, 2020 11:15AM Emerald Expositions
