Working at Edison can be a mixed bag. On one had it is probably a fairly secure job and your coworkers might be nice and amicable, on the other hand things are old, there's plenty of red tape and in-company politics guiding direction and decisions. It's a large enough company though, so ymmv depending on team/business unit/org

It's an okay to place, but most job locations are further east of DTLA. A diverse workforce, but the culture is not very competitive due to its monopoly position. Many Indeed reviews complain about workloads, but some work is likely low-value or legacy processes that have been in place for decades. Some good managers care about their teams' growth and have poor leadership skills. The workforce is tenured, so you'll find many with 15+ years of experience at the company. Meetings and decisions are not based on seeking the truth but on striving to be correct (proving existence). Some old-timers proudly displayed their SCE badge in the community, but now most hide it because of rising rates, poor customer service, and lack of public messaging on the value of SCE's investments.
Most teams come in 1 or 2 days a week, which is generous. I think the executives are hesitant to force a RTO policy, due to possible retirements or people leaving. It's probably one of the, if not the most attractive, fringe benefits right now.
The utility industry isn't the sexiest or most exciting as you'll find in tech or entertainment, but with that comes stability and comfort. It all depends on what you are looking for in a job.

Horrible work life balance

horrible place to work in the call center, they do not value the workers' happiness which results in unhappy employees and bad customer service (sadly).
they force you to meet numbers of calls taken, and dock you for minute details such as saying the word "unfortunately" ?? like what is that
it was miserable working there, youre always on call - would NOT recommend

Good balance of many areas

The salary is good given the current market. Our workloads can be challenging depending on projects and resource constraints. The staff is generally friendly, while management can be more political than necessary. Promotions seem selective, but overall, the job is more than average, given all of the benefits.

It's a toxic culture when all of you--your beliefs, ideas, self-respect-- are subsumed to corporate identity. Very political environment and leaders are from the old school stereotype of bias and domineering.

SCE is a good place to start your career, but don't expect to advance your career if you're not in the right clique/group. If you're not in that inner-circle, you're not going anywhere. That also depends on the group you're in, but I definitely see it within the Finance group and folks moving between EIX (parent company) and SCE (subsidiary).

The company is a top rated company to work for. Pay and benefits are excellent. However, my job description was on the force reduction platform so most of us were laid off. Otherwise, I would still enjoy working there.
