They only see you as a sales number, and do not appreciate any of your efforts. This was the most unprofessional place. Management claimed they gave training, when all we did was role plays with no product knowledge. It wasn’t the most inspiring environment. I felt judged and ridiculed for smallest mistakes I made. Didn’t feel like I could connect with the managers, or the senior artists, cause they acted like they where better than the newbies. Manager talked behind another artists back with a senior artist. Environment felt very clique. Felt I was being watched. The most positive was meeting two other talented artists, and getting the discount. But the discount is not worth it for the amount of nonsense you go through. There is a mean girl mentality at the Canadian corporate office (ie: MAC brand). The complete opposite of the inclusivity. There is an utter lack of representation of BIPOC communities. Simply look at the leadership roles. The pay is not competitive nor the vacation. The company continues to go through several restructuring based on poor leadership and revolving doors.
