The SCADA Administrator provides essential SCADA technical support to the Denver Division five major asset teams and the Measurement Services teams. The SCADA Administrator will design, implement, configure, and operate the company’s SCADA oil and gas production systems. The position ensures that SCADA is configured in accordance with company, industry and regulatory standards and/or contractual requirements while meeting asset client needs (the customer). Position provides SCADA support to Asset staff to promote field operational efficiencies as well as design and troubleshoot SCADA systems. This resource will resolve problems in the areas of SCADA and SCADA Communications (Radio, Cell Modem and Satellite). SCADA Administrator will play a key role in the development and compilation of SCADA standards, drawings, technical configuration information and standardized policies/procedures. SCADA Administrator will lead SCADA Projects and will assist the Automation Engineer with process improvement studies and projects, quality assurance programs, training of field personnel, RF engineering and safety compliance.
Responsibilities for this position include managing computer and application software infrastructure in support of critical SCADA projects and business application interfaces. Project work may include all or part of the following: assessments, analysis, developing a detailed scope of work, preparation of cost estimates, expenditures forecasting, acquisitions, equipment specification review and development, bid evaluations, installation drawings, budgeting and installation plans.
The SCADA Administrator will have responsibility in the following areas: remote terminal units (RTU), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), electronic flow meters (EFM), automation instrumentation and devices, SCADA configuration, data mapping, tag naming, tag aliasing, facility naming, facility attribute design, graphic screen design and configuration, security, polling schedules, alarming, callout, wireless communications devices, and communications infrastructure. The position will provide support for the integration of production, measurement, automation, compression and plant control data into SCADA or the enterprise historian to facilitate asset team decision making, reporting needs and regulatory requirements. The SCADA Administrator is responsible for keeping apprised of technological advances and industry standards in areas of work.
