Certain managers have no idea what they are doing, and behave rather recklessly and in violation of company policy. Creating bad work environment. Along with that, the company is currently changing its entire setup and eliminating positions left and right- if you are promised anything that is not in writing, get ready for it to not mean anything.

I am sorry but there are not positive reviews about this company.

The company is no longer what it use to be. In the very recent years we have closed all leasing office doors and have become call centers for not only sales but also for resident relations. They have pretty much forced their employees to relocate to ridiculous locations that do not honor the work/home life balance when there is more than enough space to accommodate additional work spaces. There is no potential career growth, no positive goals, no opportunities at all. Departments that are being formed are completely unnecessary and are pushing out existing departments but in locations that take away from being personable with clients and residents, yet they still want positive reviews! The new systems are terrible, the process from touring to applying to moving in is NOT easy. In fact they only have up to three employees handling five or more communities with over two hundred residents or more for resident relations; though you are still handling the move ins, the complaints, the rental payments, the emergencies, the transfers and are expected to have a 100% under and hour response time and are severely underpaid. The reports on performances is inaccurate and unreasonable, the expectations is very off base and out of touch with the workload. You get no incentive, very underpaid with unnecessary amount of work with no help or understanding.

Ever since the change in leadership, it has been incredibly disappointing. My advice to management is to reevaluate the way you are running this business. You have created the worst environment and no amount of company picnics or zoom video call shout outs will change anything. The only ones who are keeping it together for this company are your Sales and Community Managers. Nothing should have ever changed.

Good benefits, good 401k, good PTO, vacation, and sick time. Great operations team, great hands-on experience.

From my experience, the maintenance staff are highly overworked and severely unrecognized in all they do for their respective properties, residents, and co-workers. There is a lack of response from the customer relations teams when residents have an issue that overflows to the maintenance team to respond and resolve the issue with urgency and no regard for the maintenance team's availability at the time of the request.
Little to no support from CMS or CRT when bringing to their attention different issues with the property, complaints from residents, and maintenance needs.
Multiple corporate changes put employees in a state of uncertainty about job security.
No proper training or skill-building exercises to ensure the employees continued growth and development.

We used to have some pros. The benefits are ok. Time off and holidays are good.

The downside of working here is the company is always changing policies and many times without notification. We went into what they call collections but now that is about to change. We have lost so much opportunity and growth chances. It is absolutely discouraging to continue to be here.
Maintenance teams are treated lower than dirt by their managers, by the directors, and by other departments who think they are their boss too. It’s disgraceful.
The managers try to pretend they do a lot for them and for some reason are delusional in thinking they treat them even with some respect.
We receive surveys every year and are bullied into completing them for feedback that they never listen even though they say they do. They are voluntary but we are still bullied to do them.
Nothing is secret here. We all know from LA to Ventura all the horrible treatment of the teams with fake managers. People here because we need jobs but we do not have anything left for Essex.

Advice been given many times. Can’t continue to give advice when it is not heard. No action.
Changing collection again might be ok but what about everything else we have said. Do better by the people that make your billions. Give bigger rent discount for employees. Treat maintenance with respect they are not your slaves. Remove toxic managers from your company.
