<p>As a critical member of the Corporate Accounting team, the Fixed Assets Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely accounting of all matters related to fixed assets and leases for Enviva Holdings, LP and its subsidiaries. This role will partner with various departments including Operations, Facilities, FP&amp;A, and others to support reporting related to capital purchasing and month-end procedures. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing Fixed Assets and driving process improvement and in a large, fast-paced, publicly traded organization</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p><em>Fixed Asset Accounting, Lease Accounting, and Project Accounting Reporting</em></p>
<ul>
<li>Drives accurate financial reporting in compliance with existing policies and GAAP.</li>
<li>Responsible for the financial statement disclosure of future minimum lease payments and commitments table</li>
<li>Owner of the fixed asset system and responsible for the timely recording of all fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions</li>
<li>Tracks and manages all lease agreements, payments and asset retirement obligations, if applicable, across the organization</li>
<li>Lead the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts including the transition from construction in progress to fixed asset categories and assignment of useful lives</li>
<li>Responsible for all month end close procedures related to fixed assets including depreciation entries, preparation of roll forward schedules and the reconciliation of the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger</li>
<li>Assist FP&amp;A department in reviewing Capital Appropriation Requests for capital vs expense decisions, explaining capital expenditure variances, and provide guidance on non-routine transactions.</li>
</ul>
<p><em>Accounting Operations</em></p>
<ul>
<li>Responsible for the plant, property and equipment presentation within the cash flow statement including the accurate identification of fixed asset balances remaining in accrued liabilities, depreciation remaining in inventory and capital leases recorded during the period</li>
<li>Accounting and assist to identify embedded leases within agreements on an ongoing basis</li>
<li>Partner with the operations and construction teams to ensure that fixed assets, associated useful lives and disposals are identified prior to capital projects being submitted for approval </li>
<li>Prepare audit schedules and respond to all audit inquiries related to fixed assets</li>
</ul>
<p><em>Internal Controls</em></p>
<ul>
<li>Create and manage a system of internal controls and procedures for the identification and accurate recording of fixed assets and leases</li>
<li>Ensure that policies and procedures are in place and documented to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected and follow SOX requirements.</li>
</ul>
<p><em>Leadership and Project Management</em></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead, develop and promote professional staff with a consistent focus on efficiencies within the fixed asset function</li>
<li>Provide guidance on accounting impacts associated with special projects and/or non-routine transactions.</li>
<li>Responsible for developing and implementing lean thinking strategies</li>
<li>Other tasks as assigned</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>4-7 years of experience managing fixed assets and lease accounting in a public company with a minimum of 2 years’ experience managing people and/or projects</li>
<li>B.A./B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or related field</li>
<li>Expertise in Fixed Assets accounting demonstrated through a role in manufacturing, accounting operations, capital project management, or in an audit capacity</li>
<li>Experience with PP&amp;E accounting and reporting, business process improvement efforts, audit remediation, and documenting policies and procedures required</li>
<li>Advanced knowledge of accounting concepts; GAAP, and SOX requirements</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills</li>
<li>Proven ability to foster relationships with team members and work well in collaborative group environments</li>
<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced Excel user.</li>

<p>Vessel</p>

<li>Ensure docking, undocking, and mooring process is completed safely</li>
<li>Line handling both in docking and undocking (pull, cleat, order of lines thrown)</li>
<li>Control room operations to ensure vessel is loading correctly (load rate, gate control, fine mitigation)</li>

The new hire will work directly with the VP, Expansion Projects to lead a cross-disciplinary team through the evaluation, design and execution of several capital projects that will expand the production at existing Enviva plants. Enviva is looking for a high performing candidate with the demonstrated potential to be a future leader in the company.
