Pay was maybe a dollar or two above minimum wage for some of the toughest, strangest work in the business world that almost no one knows about - you're essentially calling businesses, hospitals, and doctor's offices who have been sent authorizations/subpoenas for the release of records, and your job is to keep calling until they produce records. Someone would get fired almost every 3-6 months just to drive home the point that none of us were secure, and could be replaced. I worked for ABI for a good number of years and was eventually laid off due to COVID (though I have since found out that my age may have played at least a small factor in that as well). In my 27 years of working office jobs, this was BY FAR the worst company that I ever worked for. Loved my time there everyone is nice and caring. Extremely fast paced. At the end of the month is extremely stressful but every one is there to help and help you move up. They put you in meetings for a hour or longer complaining about goal yet you waste a hour or 2 on time we could be making goal. You need to like to be on the phone and you need to be aggressive in order to obtain what the legal client has requested. I've been here for less than a year and love it. It is never boring and the people are so supportive, they really want you to succeed. They train as much as you need, management has an open door policy and the new space is amazing. Destroy morale and the ppl!!! Whats worse, the others STILL just CANT REALIZE some things are downhill because they NEEDED the old OE department to do good research and make sure requests went to right places. LESLIE actually knew procedures front and back.
