You have no say in what goes on on the company. All comes down from corporate who are out of touch with customers. Constantly making changes that makes things worse. Never recieved any of the bonus' when it came time for them to call me back they called me on a Thursday to find back the following Monday! Never heard from the the whole summer I was laid off. nyse:fgp https://www.indeed.com/cmp/ferrellgas/reviews Nov 22nd, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Open Ferrellgas Delivery Driver Jackson, MI USA Often you will wonder why you’ve settled for this job with this company. I started this job without any CDL endorsements or any knowledge of propane or the propane industry. The manager offered to pay the $80 fee for the TSA background check for my hazmat endorsement and allowed me to do the initial online training from home which took around 40 hours. To start immediately with full benefits and full hourly wage was awesome. Shortly after starting I got uniforms, boots, and plenty of work clothes to get through any season and would later have an annual clothing allowance to get even more which is saying a lot. I had 2-3 weeks of training with other drivers at my location and got a lot of overtime because it was the busy (winter) season. They also paid a stipend for your phone since you needed to use it for communication and had quarterly company bonuses if the area you work in made certain sales goals. They also offer employee discounts on propane as well family and friend discounts. The medical benefits were better than nothing and the PTO was nice too so long as you don’t take any time off between Halloween to April Fool’s Day. Unfortunately I often found myself having to fill in for cylinder truck drivers in a few locations at different plants in my managers district because I was hired to do that job too. That job was a bit different though and I found very physical even though it paid the same. I had constant problems with my assigned truck as well as several other trucks I was routinely lent to do the job which became very problematic as many needed way more maintenance done to them and some were nearly 20 years old. There was constant change in the company and eventually they rolled out an app that locked your phone out from use whilst your truck was in motion and then eventually they came out with new buggy handheld devices that looked like cheap smartphones and were a bit overly complex to use. I don’t miss being on call for a week at a time nor the performance reviews where I was partly graded on sales which is not something I was hired to do whatsoever, but it certainly helped keep my reviews a little poor looking so my raises would be minimal or nonexistent. Eventually my efforts were futile which my manager, along with his, started to demand I do more in the same amount of time to the point where it was not worth staying due to safety concerns which they refused to believe would be compromised to maintain their expectations. This company was spiraling when I left a year ago and their stocks continue to indicate how I made a great move in leaving. The cons outweigh the pros but it’s not a bad start to the industry so long as they don’t end up filling bankruptcy. Overtime in the winter, uniform budget, Pto, benefits, and propane discounts. Frequent truck break downs, being on call and the poor compensation for that, the entire corporate expectations that never ending, the low morale that everything you do is never enough, the company is in very bad shape. 0.0 0.0 2.0 3.0 3.0 2.0 3.0 1.0 Jan 13th, 2021 07:20PM Mar 20th, 2021 01:06PM Ferrellgas Partners Utilities Gas, Water & Multi-utilities

A recruiter's job is just that - to recruit. They will lie to get you in the door and then leave you high and dry once their work is done. Run fast and far away if you want to keep your dignity. I was told I would only have to work part time and then they told me full time. 0.0 0.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 Jan 13th, 2021 07:20PM Mar 20th, 2021 01:07PM Ferrellgas Partners Utilities Gas, Water & Multi-utilities

nyse:fgp https://www.indeed.com/cmp/ferrellgas/reviews Oct 26th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Open Ferrellgas Route Delivery Driver Michigan It's good work to get by but, don't expect to move up with the company. I was at the company for 11 months, I was treated well until February 2020 at which point started treating me quite poorly. I had no problem with the work at all I have always had a hard work ethic. but, was told often that I am doing all wrong regardless of my efficacy on the route. Also there were numerous mechanical issues that were never fully fixed just given the once over to keep the truck operational Management and Dispatcher seemed to always be on holiday PTO every month it seemed my area was extremely under staffed. After months of straight 9-12 hr. days I finally managed to put in for vacation at which point the day after I put it in I was given a BS excuse why I was being let go given no clear explanation. Corporate cares for one thing and one thing only and that's money they don't care at all about the drivers and their well being. I forgot they will offer higher wages to younger drivers just to get them in the door. I delivered forklift tanks. Very physical job but you don't have to use your brain a lot! lol If you can put up with the nepotism then go for it. I left for other reasons than the job itself. Pay is good. Benefits have good coverage but are costly. Just to let you know, winters stink! Trust me.
