Fleetmatics was a fabulous place to work with its own unique culture, based entirely around success.
I was lucky enough to work in offices across Ireland, the UK, North America and Australia, where the Fleetmatics DNA was always consistent.
A typical day would involve me booking appointments for the Sales Director in my original entry position as Business Development Manager. I then opened an office in Sydney Australia and assumed a closing role, so my day involved meeting and closing prospective clients over the phone / web.
The hardest part of this job was the shift in culture when it was bought out. The most enjoyable part was the success and remuneration, recognition and respect.
Not for those who enjoy a lot of time off!

This would be my second job opportunity in an office setting and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there. Unlike my previous employer our training was very minimal and was only three days long. The role of the sales associate can get stressful but at the end of every day you have a measurable accomplish you can strive for.
The majority of the work consisted of making sure the sale is ready for completion and to coordinate the installation of the gps units. I was assigned three different distribution areas and I was to take an SO and to confirm the order of the product and the time of installation. Then I was to contact a local Installer and see if they can match the costumers time line. if it is a match I was to again contact the customer and to confirm that all Is in order. Once the installation is booked and the costumer confirms the sale is complete and is sent to my manager to give it the okay. The stress comes in when the chain of events is broken, and since we deliver to the entire united states and some parts of mexico there are many factors that can impede this process. Having to drop everything youre working on at the moment to help a concerned customer may stress a lot of people out but I enjoy it. I look at is an opportunity to be a helping hand to a frustrated person who is on the phone for a while with no answers.. I learned a lot about my self while I was there and it was an overall positive experience.
