Productive and fun environment except for too many chiefs and not enough worker need!

What is the best part of working at the company?
Had an awesome boss at the time. Still stay in touch with him but the company downsized and numerous people were cut from the Dallas office.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Tension between the various chiefs of each department located in one office.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Was excellent at the time.
Great staff and good people working there.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy and fun at the same time. Great group of people working hard together.

I left a good job to run First Industrial Core Market of Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin, Texas. I was offered a nice salary, but they fired me just before year end so as not to pay me a bonus based on the production of my 1 of 4 core markets. The guys were nice, but some of my local employees were hard to get along with. I was used to leading people in business as I had at Vantage, my prior company/job.

Direct manager was very old fashioned, didn't believe in letting you leave even a minute early, despite having work finished before deadlines. There was a work from home policy in place, but it didn't feel like working from home was encouraged unless you truly had no other option. There wasn't really room for advancement unless someone left the company. Promotions and non-scheduled raises were based too much on office politics instead of actual job performance. Quarter ends sometimes required overtime, but the rest of the time work was moderate and sometimes things were a little too slow.
