Worked there for a little over a year as an overhead crane operator. Was completely and thoroughly trained as are most employees. Unlike other places I've worked, they don't expect people to go outside of their given duties due to safety/OSHA reasons. The management that I interacted with were all nice and understanding, however there were some bad apples especially in the upper more office type management. Simple schedule but due to the nature of the work the foremen usually don't know if they'll need to work on the weekends to make up production until thursday/friday and it happens fairly often, however if there's enough people available on the given crews you can choose not to work on off days. Overall enjoyed working there, straightforward job duties and pretty good people, at least on swing shift. Good and quick pay scaling, good benefits, safety minded management, good training. They have everything you need to get the job done...usually...but for some reason everyone seems to be a lot more negative than necessary, whether they've been there years, months, or weeks. Even being a seasoned worker it was frustrating to come into that every shift. These are my experiences in the plate shop, there's several other departments that may or may not be a totally different ride. My position allowed me a good schedule, and most of the time, a five day work week. Had I known this beforehand I would of just skipped working here.
