I was paid $7 for little hours. I wasn’t told until actually getting the job that my actual PAY was based on sales. I also wasn’t told that if I made little to no sales I would get FEWER hours on the schedule. I was called exactly an hour after the interview. If I knew what type of sales/ stock wannabe people I would’ve been working for I would’ve never thought of applying in the first place. Nobody in the store lasted over two months at most. I got taken off the schedule for two weeks when I wasn’t able to come in even though I wasn’t even on the schedule for that day. The managers only care about themselves and sit in the back of the store on their phones. They overwork you and underpay you. The managers are great, lots of help and really nice with good energy. Staff team is great, a lot of fun and always have inside jokes. Working there is quite easy but fast paced. I started as a Co-Manager and after going through the training program I was able to take over my first store within 6 months of being hired. I ran 4 different stores for the company while I was training to be a District Sales Manager. Because I successfully promoted 7 of my co-managers to run their own stores; I was promoted to a DSM within 4 1/2 years of joining the company. This company is dedicated to its employees growth and success. My favorite part of the job is the sense of accomplishment I felt smashing my goals, training my team and watching them be excited by their own success. I love helping people; especially young people that most would never give a chance. If you want growth and development without necessarily spending tons on college degrees - Journeys will give you all the training and support to help you reach your goals. If you are someone that works hard, your work will not go unnoticed. Closing duties are time consuming, and super strict sales goal. I had to get a write up for not reaching a sales goal for a month even despite not being at work for 2 weeks due to COVID Its difficult to make commission, they claim you get commission but thats only if you sell more in 4% commission than what you would get paid hourly. The commission doesn’t get added on to your check. THIS IS NOT MANAGEMENTS FAULT THOUGH!!
