Pretty much left to your own devices and not micromanaged. You'll learn quickly because you have no choice. And they don't hold your mistakes against you because they know you aren't really trained.

Low pay, low training, understaffed, no spare parts. The goal for the company is zero downtime, which means bandaid and bubblegum during the week (even if it damages the machine more) then try to fix stuff as best you can on the weekends.⁴

The job tasks are not overly complicated and do not demand much physical unless there is an issue with the machinery.

Unfortunately, this is an often occurrence. There seemed to be no urgency to fix issues that caused undue stress and demand on the workforce. At times an issue could disrupt normal operating processes for weeks. Meanwhile, little or no info is communicated to production workers. This caused a lot of frustration and distrust.

Greif aims to be a top-performing global customer service company, guided by values like Personal Accountability and Respect for Others. These principles inspired me to become a Customer Service Representative. However, within two months, I found discrepancies between the company's ideals and practices, especially at the Alsip plant, where there was a lack of support and a toxic work environment. Despite Greif's overall reputation, these issues made it difficult to continue. I resigned in November, promising to stay for three months until they found a replacement. Similarly, my colleague, who started with me, also resigned, citing concerns for her mental well-being.
Lack of accountability, Indifference/Lack of Concern for customer needs and hardships, Unsupportive leadership that seems to be more concerned about Financials versus doing the right thing. Having to constantly apologize to customers for not meeting standards/expectations.
