If you desperately need some work experience on the resume...
The best thing that can be said about the company was said to me before I was hired: "They have good benefits, you know". The benefits are okay but not great. On the other hand, the work culture is toxic - low morale, no energy or enthusiasm, pervasive dysfunction and inefficiency, and lack of continuity due to high turnover. Don't expect any real leadership from the management team, this is the "good old boys club", completely void of visionary, progressive leaders. Be especially cautious of those who pontificate at every opportunity - they are compensating for the absence of true leadership skills. The majority of promotions are based on nepotism and favoritism rather than merit. Compensation and hiring is definitely not merit-based; if you can craft a slick-looking resume and spin your story of accomplishments like a professional politician, you're far more likely to get hired at a higher starting salary. If you have "friends in high places", that works equally well. Finally, be careful about challenging authority/leadership with progressive thinking and creative problem-solving - it is just as likely to be viewed as a threat as it is to be viewed as an opportunity for improvement. Save yourself a lot of anguish and avoid this place, unless you have some friends here and can use that to your benefit.

Amazing benefits and great work/life balance
ASB really cared about what you were interested in and tried their best to promote within. Managers were awesome and always made sure we had work/life balance. It could be very stressful at times, but coworkers and great customers made it worth it. Also the benefits are hard to beat. I have never worked with another company who offers as much as ASB.

Great working environment but not much growth within the bank and bad compensation.
Great compensation if you’re starting up or newly hired. Existing employees get “cents” raises yearly which sucks because the company has a great working environment but there’s a HIGH turnover due to lack of compensation.

Poor management, toxic environment, high turnover
Management is weak. They play favorites and openly talk badly about fellow coworkers when they're not around and bad talk customers. Toxic work environment. High turnover. No room for advancement. Pressure to do sales and meet "quotas." Don't bother going to management and Human resources. They don't care about their employees just the bottom line. Oh and they pay LOWER than other banks in similar positions.

Great company, management not so much
Your experience with ASB will depend heavily on who your managers are (if you are a working in a branch) The company is amazing from what I experienced and learned while training at Campus, however the atmosphere is totally different as a teller at a branch. The managers can definitely come off as bullies which is the cause of the terrible turnover with tellers. Tellers and teller leads love their jobs and the ASB customers, however bad branch managers can and do sometimes make the work experience more stressful and uncomfortable than it needs to be. I only departed my position due to poor management other than that, I’d still be with the company.

Solid Pay & Benefits
The branch I was at was okay for the most part. It had a lot of turnovers while I was there, & apparently prior to me starting there. Myself & others believe it's the upper management. They had such high expectations of you, yet know nothing about what happens (to you, personally) on the teller line. They also played favoritism, so if you ever got on their bad side, you'd know. I never really talked to my managers, unless I needed an approval or during 1-on-1 coaching times. My branch manager wasn't very supportive in things such as going back to school, but my co-workers/leads were. I stayed because the pay & benefits were awesome, but also my co-workers were some of the most amazing people I've worked with. If you're good at your job & super friendly, you'll have regulars that come into the branch just to see you & that was always nice. There's always room for job advancement (teller to personal banker, personal banker to assistant branch manager... etc), so that was also a plus. Also, sick days & vacation hours are all in one PTO pool.

Supportive Manager and Teammates but industry is a little boring
I got hired without much experience for the role or the banking industry (just a business degree), but they took a chance on me anyway due to my interview responses fitting the company culture. My manager is kind, professional, and supportive. Also seems very knowledgeable in his role. I think there are too many meetings involved and the industry itself isn't super exciting. But overall the people are pleasant (only encountered one rude person so far), so that's a win in my book. I'm also being trained from the ground up so they seem to value developing their talent in-house and aren't too hung up on what's on your resume.
Transportation benefits. 20 vacation days a year. The 401k matching is pretty good
Pay seems below national average. Lots of meetings. Not the most exciting work.

Don’t worry
Benefits gets an A+, management gets an F.
You need to be disassociated with yourself to work here. The work environment is very toxic and management is not supportive. ASB likes to put tyrants in control. They promote “work-life balance” however, that only applies with management. Only managers can have the best schedules to spend time with their family. Tellers are unable to do so and sacrifice them to help benefit the manager. They like to promote the “bad guys” and they love to control others with their powers.
They have huddles in the morning and they’re very negative. When you do something good, there is no praise. It’s all about what you do wrong. Customers can be rude and when I was threatened with me life, upper management told me that I was wrong and should have agreed with the customer and gave it the customers way, even if that meant jeopardizing my job because that would be an infraction on the rules & policy. And I was told to make sure it never happens again in the future. They do not back up their employees and will always make exceptions for customers; which then leads to inconsistent rules.
If you’re thinking “why don’t you just contact HR?” Well honey, I’ve got news for you! I did contact HR and they are JUST AS BAD. might as well bang your head against the wall. It’ll feel better than talking to HR.
It’s sad because everything COULD go right there, however, the way the company hired and promotes managers are the real reason why people leave. The benefits are awesome, SOME coworkers are awesome. Then you have the negative energies; sucking the life out of you.
If you’re able to disassociate the negativity and focus on yourself, then that’s great. But it also means being put down constantly. And being able to smile after being talk to like garbage and go on about your day in a happy mood. I would never go back working there, even IF their benefits are great. This company has lost so many good tellers because of poor management. It’s all about the money for this company.
Benefits are good because it makes it hard for someone to leave. That’s why a lot of the tellers stay. Just for the benefits. Not because they love their job so much and I think it’s sad because as a company, you need to bribe people to work for you because the overall work environment is not healthy.
