While offering little to no training, their expectations of learning a difficult job with a massive amount software programs/procedures in a short amount of time was unrealistic. My supervisor was very cold and treated her staff as garbage. I concur completely with the entire review from the accountant who stated “There is a reason for the excessive turnover.....”. I was lured away for a few extra dollars from my rewarding career with an extremely highly regarded commercial real estate company and I regret it every day. HRT is poorly managed, technologically inept and logistically backward. No training nor guidance is provided and the culture is ‘eat or be eaten’ which is disgustingly toxic. I was none-the-less praised for my adaptability, progress and accomplishments only to be fired with no warning and painfully 3 days after my position was filled with my previous employer. RUN from the company!! There were 15 people in my department from Accounting Manager to Staff Accountant. In this time 8 accountants were either terminated or resigned. There is a reason for the excessive turnover. This is a very poorly managed company at the operational level and it will not improve any time soon. A lack of organization, accountability, communication, and cooperation pervade the property management and accounting departments. Aside from a few “team players” the morale is low with a lot of frustration that management attempts to deal with by buying donuts. I would not recommend working here. I've learned to effectively maintain the ledger of multiple properties. The management were very reserved thus, the culture of the department reflected such. The hardest part of the job is getting field employees how accrual based accounting works.
