Not a bad place to be. Experience depends greatly on what team you end up on. Things change constantly including new responsibilities with no pay increases. Low salaries compared to industry standard.

Fantastic People, Company is Growing and an Amazing Work Life Balance

I have worked at Kemper for almost 2 years now and it is absolutely amazing. I know people think Insurance is a bland product but working at an Insurance company is not! The people are super friendly (and go out of their way to help you), the company's bottom line is growing due to prudent fiscal management that is now paying off huge dividends and I stress this part, they are excellent with work life balance. I am married and have 2 young kids and my spouse works full time as well so I can speak first-hand to this in a very concrete way. And at Kemper you are actually able to take your vacation and enjoy it! Granted it's been 2 years and not 5 years, but huge thumbs up from me (and my wife!) so far. Also additional point on the product. While insurance is a pretty straightforward product the projects you work on to ensure that product is good and useful and efficient for customers is quite dynamic, fun and rewarding. I know that sounds like a stretch if you haven't worked at an Insurance company before (I had not) but it's oddly true.
