All employees are severely underpaid. Many come and go for the experience then leave for something better. I would say on average of my pay for my role, I was underpaid by almost $10.

Co-workers are polite and pleasant.
Most co-workers have a good work ethic and endeavor to do their job well.
The hospital building is ancient and shows wear and tear, shoddy repairs, and failing infrastructure. Management is more reactive and less proactive. It is short of equipment or equipment in need of repair.

High stress and not enough staff support, but staff is very friendly
|
This was a job where you are on your feet almost all shift and you help with feeding and baths or transferring patients, mainly 12 patient assignments, low staff so not as much support. Staff is very positive and hardworking despite the circumstances.

Pay is good? However, management sucks. No support is provided and no opportunities for CEUs. The roles of CEU and director are a joke. I would recommend as a career stepping stone not a job to retire at.

Good place to succeed

I worked at several locations at Kindred in Orange County. I made lifetime friends. I miss them all. My NP friends, my social worker friends, my nurse friends, and my beloved patients. It was a great experience to learn and grow in my profession. Unfortunately I had to move far away because of my family.

Vegas location was very stressful

Kindred in Vegas was a very stressful place to work at. We are constantly short staffed because people kept calling in and staff morale was low. Pay was lower than facilities outside.

I've really enjoyed working day shift at Kindred Hospital. I appreciate having the same assignment when I'm back 2-3 days in a row. I feel like in this environment, it is easy to get to know your patients and their families. It's hard working 12-hour shifts anywhere - but here at Kindred, your expectations for patient care are easily listed within their own unique (archaic) charting system. It doesn't leave you guessing what the patient will need from you during your shift. I've enjoyed the staff I work with, including nurses, PCTs, radiology techs, lab personnel, and management. There are options to never be called to pick up or you can put yourself out there and pick up extra shifts.

Some days you can be expected to have a 6-patient team. Mostly, you'll have 4-5.

Terrible company to work for because of unfair treatment, unprofessional management and staff. I do not not recommend working at kindred at all because the work environment is very toxic
