Bonuses for lower level employees as well. PTO is not position based but how long you've been in the company. Start with 2 weeks and can get 5 weeks in 5 years. PTO- they give and allow carryover but when you leave they won’t pay you out for “carryover” even though it’s not separate on your pay stub 3- workload, the CRM calls, the pro calls. A waste of time and money. 4-Training. Watch videos but still run a store at the same time. Are not a visual learner, tough. 5- Favoritism is rampant here. Expect a lot of male dominated egos. If your not a favorite then you get nothing but complaints 6- HR or lack there of. Lies to your face then tries to back it up with handbooks that you never seen 7- working conditions- no heat no ac in wharehouse- get used to it. It has been a month or so since I started working here and even though I still have a lot to learn, I must say that so far I do love working for this company. The more I learn, the more I realize how well structured this company is and how much LL cares for their employees and treat us all like family. The benefits are amazing. They changed their name because people assumed they were a liquidation firm. They are not. They have always been a flooring company. The hiring process was swift and informative. I interviewed with the store manager at my location and then the DM. Got the offer, did the drug and background test and that was that. Now I will going onto the job itself. I feel like perhaps the job details are potentially deliberately ignored. Meaning that they do not tell you some of them for fear that if you do find out you will not stay. What about the job might make you not stay you ask? So the job is more predominately a warehouse job. You spend more time using the forklift to move product or loading customers product then you do actually selling the product in the showroom. Also the store is essentially skeleton crewed. Most stores have a total of 3 employee's some have 4. Total . not working at one shift. Total. That means that on the rare ocassion that you work a day Solo you might have to spend say an hour in the back doing warehouse work leaving the showroom unattended. Which I felt was a massive safety risk. Yes, there was a sign saying we were in the warehouse and would be right out as well as a door buzzer than went off in the warehouse but that still allowed customers to walk in and walk around essentially the whole space ( as the warehouse was not locked, nor was the room that held the safe). The customer could have stolen floor displays. If the associate was in the bathroom they could have technically stolen product in the warehouse as the back door is not alarmed, nor locked during business hours. The training was mainly video training. Which was okay but didnt really help with retention. The store management was young.. which isnt really an issue except it became clear they lacked the experience to really understand how to deal with customers. Sometimes customer service is just something you learn via experience. There was always talk between store management at different stores about how the company was in trouble, and struggling and would start closing down stores soon. I could hear this as i was watching training videos. He was an amazing leader, teacher, and understanding man. I entered with no sales experience and left with more skills and experience than I have from any other job. The work is both front of house making sales and back in the warehouse distributing the floor and using the forklift. opened Sundays and holidays.
