They continually expect more with less. The pay is descent. The equipment is old and breaking down constantly. The maintenance department is sub standard. Much of the management is new to the mill, but well experienced in the industry. When I was interviewed the team was professional, clear about the challenges they faced and what skills and experience they were looking for, and forward-looking. This mill has been a fixture in the community for a long time, and depending on who you ask opinions are mixed. I think this is because it's hard to see the potential in the place for those used to how it has been. I joined the team this year (2022) and I've been impressed with my co-workers, pleased to see the corporate side has a vision and the gumption to take strategic risks, and that the product made here has a bright future.
