This company needs to recognize that their staff on-site is what drives results and gets the great reviews, boosts company income and overall sales.
Sending a company wide email of thanks during holidays doesn’t cut it. Incentives offered aren’t great enough to outweigh the stress of understaffing.
Maybe if home office individuals would take time to get to know their employees/regions then some positive change could finally take place.

This company has become so greedy that during a pandemic they changed all the normal ways of doing things and now are charging customers the lien way early. No help at all given to them. We are to train the customers on how to pay their bills. Not be understanding that people are dying and that people are out of work. The 1st 2 months I thought wow. After that you can’t even get a late fee waived. They even charge the employees late fees. They are sick and money hungry. When you forget the people pay you and you treat them bad you will be out of business before you know it. So sad. They fire employees over stupid things but keep the people who will not work and lay out all the time. They do not staff enough and they wear their workers into the ground.

Workplace was a very toxic environment

Workplace is very toxic overall and management rarely know what they're doing. No real directive and no systemically way of doing things. The company lacks complete structure and direction, I worked as a ASM and did the work as the Store manager for months and was never paid a differential in wages. Left to go work for competitor and never looked back.

This company looks for someone to take the fall when an issue comes up, I had even been there 60 days before they decided it was OK to terminate me over some thing that wasn’t even my fault, the on-site live on property manager should have caught these things before I came to a store I’ve never worked out and cover. This company does not value you as an employee, all you are is a number.

Job description and actual workload do not match

As other reviews have mentioned, you are indeed expected to "wear too many hats" here. When I was hired, I was told what my job expectations would be, but my actual workload was far greater for nearly the entire time I worked here. There is a lot of turnover in this company and as a result many managers are offered the "privilege" of running multiple stores, but are not offered much additional pay, meaning this benefits corporate payroll more than it benefits the employees. They can't hire and keep associate managers on (because the pay is inadequate) so expect to float between multiple stores. If you're an associate manager and your manager is running multiple stores, expect to do the work of a store manager while getting paid significantly less and hardly ever working with your manager. My upper management was nice but often unresponsive to issues, which is unfortunate when so much of your job is reliant on them signing off on your conflict resolution with customers. Benefits are good (health insurance, ample PTO and sick pay, 401K and life insurance) but the stress and actual pay aren't worth it.

I was excited when I started...

The company is not concerned about employee satisfaction or confidence with the tasks required. No notice ...no coaching ...just "give me your keys!". Seems some people are trained liars. Who can sway others with trash talk. Better oversight is required... assistance when asked. Yet the ones who are awesome are not Recognized for their ability...I'm sad to not be there.

I loved working for the company but not my manager at the Shell Road location. She was not helpful and very entitled. If it weren’t for her I would still be with the company today.
