Most political work environment I’ve ever been involved in. The sense of dread and misery when you walk in the door was defeating.
It’s not about what you know with anything it’s about who you know or suck up too. Lots of lazy people who really don’t know anything. People having major toxic behaviors, talking behind others backs, and no one knows anyone skill level.
Lots of rag tag repairs and you’re not allowed to really do anything due to “safety”. Co

Newmont Ghana, Ahafo South is a highly productive mining company that prioritizes and upholds safety high at all level of operations. The company's employees are offered one of the best condition of services within the mining fraternity in Ghana.
This not withstanding, there are a few practices and policies I find problematic;
- Poor managerial decisions
- Unreasonable redundancy package coupled with promotional disparities are issues that needs urgent attention.
- Conflict of interest relating to self rewarding contracts that encourages nepotism and subsequently affects productivity.
Working at Newmont Ghana has taught and shaped me to become extra diligent, hardworking, responsible in all facets. I really enjoys the works culture and loves to attend annual get together parties organized for employees of all status.

What is the best part of working at the company?
1. My best part of working with Newmont Africa is being an electrical Technician who always attends to faults on the field and also diagnose electrical issue.
2. Moving from the field to the Asset Planning section has also increased my skills which has also become my best part working in Newmont Africa.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part about working at the company is at times when there is a shutdown and our planned hours are overrun due to the rains or other uncertainties.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Newmont Mining has its Safety is always being paramount. when its not safe, stay back and escalate issues to your supervisor till it gets to the GM.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Sometimes stressful especially when an unplanned shut sets in and also not stressful when we are having a smooth run.
