Not bad.
|
Pay isnt great. management is a little disconnected from the work force. ability to travel but expect to be gone as long as 6 to 12 months depending on the job. You do get the opportunity to learn different welding processes. Id say its okay.

a positive and fair environment full of comradery and diversity.

I typically worked the 12 hour shifts with an initial meet at the beginning of the shift to assign roles and state the plan of the day then started work promptly there after.

Low comp
|
Low pay, refused to give raise. Froze wages for several years. Implemented new pay structure across company so those with legacy pay continued to make obscene amount while those with a few years at the company had wage growth stunted at ridiculous low levels.

Good plaxe
|
Nice place to work, guys are great to work with. Oceaneering is paying for Certs again. Month on month off is a good life balance. Seas can get bumpy, doesn’t matter time of day. Helicopter rides are long and uncomfortable.suits are very uncomfortable.

Great company, better for experienced professionals
|
Oceaneering it still operates like a small firm in that you can work as a professional and not have tasks dictated to you. Day-to-day management is easy to work with and fair, but it is difficult to connect with the company leadership's long-term strategy. Underinvestment in cross-training results in turnover and knowledge churn.
|
Smart and down to earth coworkers and focus on safety and integrity, Great mission and opportunities to work on interesting projects and new technology, Company invests to provide the tools and resources needed to accomplish the job and improve
|
Cryptic policy for salary and merit raises, Projects get easily stalled and unclear at times who is responsible for decisions/guidance, No internal development opportunities. The skills you are hired for are the only ones you will have

Some people are the diamond in the rough. others have an old mind set on work and dealing with people when it comes to certain situations.
|
there is a lot of chill time depending on the job and the contract if you doing ship work there is a lot of work. some managers like to train others will not train you.
|
Off time, Flexible schedules
|
21 days offshore working 12 hour days no off time during those 3 weeks.

Very stressful and used simply as a tool for the company to make money.
|
What is the best part of working at the company?
Time off / work balance. They will work you to death if you let them. But if you stand up for yourself you can work about 60/40 ratio.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They hire just about anyone, working with people who have zero knowledge of Electronics or Hydraulic, basically puts the load on you.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Office personnel are rarely honest with the offshore workers. If you ask questions about something they know you'll not like the answer, they simply ignore you question. There is a click culture, some can do no wrong. If your in the click & have issues, they will ignore your complaints and there is a very good bet you'll not last very long.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You'll wake up and attend a safety meeting on at 0530. Change into FR clothes and PPE and head to your work area at 0600. Receive a pass down from The night shift. Make a dive with the sub or repair the sub calling it maintenance. Most of the ROV's are well used and abused. Most of the newer hires lack any knowledge or skills so you rely on OJT. Some pick things up while other are there only to receive a paycheck.

Easygoing workplace, but management can be distant
|
Typical enough experience, though it might prove interesting subject material depending upon which area of the business you're reporting for. Was laid off as a result of COVID but I don't blame them given the uncertainty of the time.

Not bad
|
If you are good with the offshore life then it’s not a bad company. I like being home more. No overtime and low pay for offshore. Training is good and HR was really helpful
