Neat place, management tries to provide quality experience. Few bad apples can spoil the bunch.

Management seems to actually care about safety and respect in the work place but many of the rig crews in the field and sadly the ones with longevity have little respect or care for a productive and respectful work culture. Unless you have friends or family that are there already that are in your corner, expect to be undermined and treated poorly. A lot of amazing people here but a few bad apples really did spoil the experience.
If you enjoy 2 weeks on 2 weeks off that is a plus. They pay for your travel to start your hitch. There's opportunity to work in some pretty neat countries and states. Room to move up depending more on likeability then skill level.

Onboarding system was broken and they believed they had their hooks in you if you had a family. Just a bad culture, it was also expected that your week started when the week started in Isreal so emails had to be answered on days off.

They pay is good and most of the people are good to work with

The company has a qual system to move up operator/ mech/ e&ic levels and if you do not complete in the required time you can be terminated and it’s tough sometimes to get somebody to work with you on your qauls

its super corporate with lots of rules and regulations that are mostly common sense issues
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day would be doing plant rounds, sending emails, doing spread sheets and work orders its very slow paced and boring not a lot happens or goes on

Awesome people locally, but are handcuffed with Israeli leadership. Difficult to get promoted or into management if you are not Israeli or a male. The values for the company are solid, but work life balance can suffer.

Micromanaging overbearing management

A company should hire bright experienced people not so they can tell them what to do but to have them tell management how to do it right. Not Ormat you do what you are told o do or else even if you know it is not the right answer you better go with it or else. To sum it up it is a company that is always making one bad decision after another and management will blame anyone but themselves.

Management is very disrespectful and severely incompetent. They are so unorganized that every single thing becomes an emergency situation during the construction process. It’s sink or swim with these guys. If you don’t figure out how they operate pretty quickly you won’t last with them. I could go on for days ,but I don’t have the time. I would not recommend working with this company.

As far as Mon - Fri gigs go, ORMAT is not bad. I get to sit in an office on site for the most part, i'm on the computer most of the day, but being a female in this industry is not easy. I haven't stayed long enough to say i've experienced anything directly towards me, however the managers, contractors etc, openly cuss up a storm, use derogatory and inappropriate phrases when talking to others, light jokes on cultures is extremely common. If you can get past that, and sharing one restroom with 3+ guys daily, then the pay and benefits are definitely worth it.
